We want you to submit work you are proud of. If you're in doubt about your work, submit it anyway. We will get back to you as soon as possible and get in touch about how to promote your work. Please don't be intimidated by the guidelines we have written below, we want to help you!
Guidelines
General
First off, we want to thank you for even considering to submit! We are truly grateful and excited to review your work.
If you are younger than 13 years old, you cannot submit any of your pieces to us.
By submitting your work, you agree that you created the piece. If there are other creators behind your piece, please credit them. This includes models, editors, or any help needed even if you are the main artist behind you piece(s), and they have agreed that their work will be published on our platform(s). We wouldn't want anyone to feel left out!
Works submitted to us also have to be copyright free. If you intend on submitting one that isn't, please include this in your submissions notes so we can review your work carefully and get back to you.**
You are also consenting to Alam Magazine to republish your work in any of their platforms. There will also be a case where we may edit some parts of your work, but mainly for promotional purposes, art, and writing pieces (ie: taking quotes from your piece for a graphic, placing texts or illustrations on top of your work to promote them on our Instagram - we will inform everyone if this happens, of course). In this case, we will contact you, the creator, ahead of time. You may agree or disagree to this, and we will always respect your decision and try to make it work. If you choose to submit your own thumbnail/cover image that best represents your work, please do submit them below as well.
We do not mind works that have been published on other platforms as well. If you have, please include this in your submission notes**
Lastly, if you want your submissions to be anonymous, please do include this in the submission notes.
In the event that we find out you have not followed all the guidelines, we unfortunately have to remove your work from our platform(s) or not publish them in the first place. With that being said, if we do not publish your work, please do not take this personal. We believe every artist has potential.
At the moment, we do not have any specific themes, so submit away! Even if they don't fit the categories on our website. We'll simply create a new category for you. There is also no maximum pieces for you to submit, but know if there is an excessive amount, we might have to cut it down! But again, this varies per submission.
Art
If you consider it to be a piece of art, including but not limited to paintings, collages, album covers (even mock up ones!), infographics, photographs, we recommend you submit them! The sky's the limit.
We're not very nit picky about the specifics, as long as it looks high quality on your screen.
Writing
If you consider your work to be a writing piece, including but not limited to short stories, opinions, reviews, poems, submit them as such.
Any of the fonts and sizes included will be removed and formatted to our website's theme or our Instagram description's. If you request your piece to be formatted specially (eg photos in specific paragraphs or space usage), we want to see a preview of how your piece should look like if it were to be published on our website (ie a Google Document, Word Document or Pages file), and include these the specifications you want on our submission notes.
Films
If you consider your piece to be a work of film, including but not limited to short films, vlogs, tutorials, DIYs, podcast episodes, IGTVs, please submit them.
In addition to the general guidelines, the quality of your films should be at least 720 p or higher. Preferably higher.
**In the event that there are sound used by another artist that is copyright free or requests for a shout-out for their song(s) used, please include their name(s), title of song(s), and link to their original piece(s) (if it's on Apple Music or Spotify, just state that it is on there). Again, we emphasize that the sounds have to be either copyright free or have consent from the artist(s) used to be published in our platform(s).

The format should look similar to this:

Name, age, where you are (city, state if applicable, and country).
Title of your work, a short blurb of what your piece is about (doesn't have to be deep and/or long!), and link or file to what you want to submit
Any submission notes you have (this includes specific requests or any of the requests we want you to place mentioned in this page, if applicable).
